Originally set up in 1873 as a tramway company: Bombay Electric Supply & Tramways Company, the BEST set up a captive Thermal power station at Wadi bunder, Mumbai in November 1905 to generate electricity for its trams that positioned it to also supply electricity to the city of Mumbai.    JOB DESCRIPTION  Application are invited for the Posts of Trade Apprentices in Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport. For ITI passed/ITI examination appearing candidates. Passed S.S.C. Examination with Maths and Science as subjects plus completed full time I.T.I. course in the respective trade and passed the final trade test. For M.V.Body Builder trade passed S.S.C. examination with Maths and Science as subjects plus completed I.T.I. course either in Forger and Heat Treator or Sheet Metal Worker trade and passed the final trade test. For Cable Jointer trade, passed S.S.C. examination with Maths and Science as subjects plus completed I.T.I. course in Wireman trade and passed the final trade test. Similarly for Auto Electrician trade, passed S.S.C. examination with Maths and Science as subjects plus completed I.T.I. course either in Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) or in Electrician trade and passed the final trade test.. Candidates appearing for the final trade test of I.T.I. examination in July, 2013 can also apply but if selected, the appointment will be subject to their producing the I.T.I. final trade test passing certificate.
